KB Article: General interface

Using the Magnity interface

This article explains the main areas of the Magnity interface, based on the workflow shown in the tutorial video. Use it as a reference when building multilingual, persona-based campaigns and adjusting content with AI.

1. Overview of the interface layout

Magnity’s editor is divided into three main areas:

  • Left side: Content control and library
  • Centre: Canvas where your emails and other assets are built
  • Right side: Chat and live adjustment tools

At the top you have a menu bar with key actions such as saving, exporting and creating new projects.

Understanding how these areas work together makes it easier to manage complex projects with many variants.

2. Top bar and main menu

Top bar actions

In the top bar you will find:

Save field
Use this to name and save your current project. For example, “Welcome series – DE/ES personas”.

Export
Used when you want to export emails to your marketing automation platform.

Localise / translate
Translates all emails in your project into the selected languages. This is useful when you work with multiple markets and want consistent structures across languages.

New project
Creates a new project from scratch, so you can start a new campaign without leaving the editor.

Main menu options

From the menu you can navigate to:

  • Projects – access all your projects and campaigns
  • Emails – go directly to email assets
  • Social media composer – if enabled in your account
  • Landing page composer – if enabled in your account
  • Social schedule – see and manage scheduled social posts
  • Rules and prompts – edit the rules and prompts that guide your AI content creation
  • Log out – exit your Magnity session

3. Left panel: content library, languages and templates

The left side combines language control, templates and content discovery.

Language selector

At the top of the left panel, you can:

  • Select your working language, for example Spanish or German.
  • See that the content in the library updates to match the language you choose.

This helps you focus on the correct market version while still working inside one project.

Template selector

Below the language selector you can choose a template. In the tutorial example there are two options:

  • Main story with two related stories below in rows
  • Main story with two related stories side by side

In your account, you may have more templates. Choosing the right template gives you a consistent layout before you start writing.

Search and filters in the content library

The content library lets you reuse existing content and sources:

Search
Type a term such as “blog” to find relevant URLs or content items you want to base your email on.

Filters
Use filters to narrow down content types or categories:

  • Clear all filters to start fresh.
  • Select “Blog”, “Industries” or other categories available in your setup.
  • Close the filters to see only matching items.

If no filters are applied, you see the full library.

Dragging content into the canvas

Once you find a relevant item:

  • Drag it into the canvas area in the centre.
  • Magnity uses this as source content and drafts your email automatically.

This helps you quickly generate emails from existing material without copying and pasting.

4. Persona library and personalisation

Magnity supports persona-based writing directly inside the project.

Accessing the persona library

When you have a draft in the canvas, you can:

  • Open the persona library.
  • See the list of personas available in your organisation, such as:
    • Marketing specialist
    • CCO
    • Other roles you have defined

Persona details

For each persona you can see:

  • Goals
  • Fears and needs
  • Worries and concerns
  • Motivations
  • Any additional parameters you have added

This information guides how content is adapted to each audience.

Applying personas to your content

When you add personas:

  • Magnity creates new email elements or variants for those personas.
  • Each persona can have wording and focus tailored to their needs.

Some companies have many personas, others only a few. The interface supports both approaches in the same project structure.

5. Canvas and layout options

The central area is your working canvas:

  • It displays the email (or other asset) in the template you selected.
  • When you drag content from the library, Magnity writes the email into this canvas.
  • You can see different variants (for example language or persona versions) as separate elements.

On smaller screens such as laptops, you may want more space for the canvas by collapsing panels.

Collapsing the left panel

If you are working on a laptop:

  • You can collapse the left library panel to give more room to the canvas and chat.
  • This is useful when you need to focus on detailed editing.

On a desktop with a larger monitor, you can keep all panels open at once.

6. Right panel: chat-driven editing per element

Each text element in the canvas has its own built-in chat.

Per-element chat

For every element (for example a hero text, body paragraph or sub-section):

  • You can open a chat attached to that specific element.
  • The chat understands:
    • The source text you dragged into the project
    • The rules and prompts configured for your account
    • The previous chat history for that element

This means you can refine tone, length and structure while staying within the rules you defined.

Working with the chat

The chat behaves in a familiar way, similar to ChatGPT:

  • Ask it to clarify or shorten a paragraph.
  • Adjust style for a specific persona or language.
  • Make iterative changes based on your feedback.

Because the chat is element-specific, you always know which part of the email you are changing.

7. Putting it together in your workflow

In a typical workflow you might:

  • Select the working language in the left panel.
  • Choose a suitable template.
  • Use search and filters to find relevant content.
  • Drag content into the canvas to generate the first version.
  • Open the persona library to add persona variants.
  • Use the right-side chat on each element to refine copy, address goals and concerns, and align tone.
  • Use the top bar to name, save, localise or export when the content is ready.
