What a Rule Agent does that a style guide cannot

A style guide is a document people are supposed to read. A Rule Agent is infrastructure that applies before a human opens the file.

Every enterprise marketing team has a style guide. Very few have consistent output. The gap is not discipline; it is that a document cannot enforce itself.

Rules as infrastructure

The Rule Agent holds terminology, tone of voice and claim limits as machine-applied rules rather than prose guidance. Every other agent reads from it, so the standard is applied at draft time instead of caught at review time — or missed.

What this changes in review

Reviewers stop spending their attention on the same recurring corrections and start spending it on the judgement calls that genuinely need a person. The rework rate is the number to watch: it falls as the rules get more precise.

What it does not do

The Rule Agent does not replace legal, regulatory or medical sign-off, and it does not decide what your standard should be. It applies the standard you define, consistently, to everything.
